Our St. Louis Trip

On a JagFest, I found something else to do

On July 11, 2002, my wife Marianne and I flew to St. Louis to attend JagFest 2002. It was a fun trip, and we did manage to see a little bit of St. Louis before returning home on July 14. Here are some of the photographs we took!

You can't take a trip to St. Louis without a shot of the Gateway Arch! This is the bust of Jack Buck, who will always be remembered as a great humanitarian and broadcaster. The nine columns out front commemorate the Cardinals' World Championships. This one is in memory of the 1964 Championship.
Looking at the outside of Busch Stadium. Big, isn't it? (It's frickin' huge!) Here are three uniforms worn by Hall of Fame shortstop, Ozzie Smith. Look at that beautiful manicured field. Thank God they got rid of the astroturf!
Woohoo! Standing on the field of Busch Stadium! Hallowed ground for any Cardinal fan! Here we are in the dugout! Ozzie, McGwire, Edmonds, Drew, Pujols, Martinez, Morris, Vina, Renteria, or LaRussa might have sat (or spit) in this very spot! Can you say "Euphoria?" I knew you could!
Grimacing just as LaRussa would if the Cards were losing. (Which thankfully doesn't happen much anymore.) This is the press box. Directly behind me is where Jack Buck broadcast the games on KMOX. The mighty Mississippi.
Climbing the steps after dousing my hands in the famous Mississippi river. This is the Mayfair hotel, where we stayed and where JagFest was held. Here's Marianne out front of Union Station.
<Sigh> Do we really have to go?
